A Harry Potter tv show is in the works
The new Harry Potter series will be executively produced by J.K Rowling and will feature award-winning actors.
Irish actor Cillian Murphy, known for his role in 'Peaky Blinders,' is rumoured to play the infamous Voldemort in the new show.
"The series will be a faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter book series by author and executive producer J.K. Rowling and will feature an exciting and talented cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail and much-loved characters Harry Potter fans have adored for over 25 years," according to a press release.
“We’re delighted to have such extraordinary talent onboard, and we can’t wait to see them bring these beloved characters to new life,” Mark Mylod, director of multiple episodes and executive producer said.
The actors playing Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger or Lord Voldemort are yet to be announced, as well as when exactly the series will be released.
It has been announced that American actor, John Lithgow will play Albus Dumbledore, headmaster at Hogwarts.

Award-winning English actress, Janet McTeer, will play professor of witchcraft Minerva McGonagall.
English actor, Paapa Essiedu will play professor of potions Severus Snape.
English actor and comedian Nick Frost will play half-human half-giant Rubeus Hagrid.
Luke Thallon, will play Quirinus Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse will play Argus Filch.
“We are happy to announce the casting of John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, Paapa Essiedu, Nick Frost, Luke Thallon and Paul Whitehouse to play Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, Hagrid, Quirrell and Filch,” said Francesca Gardiner, showrunner and executive producer of the show.
