St. Patrick may have driven the snakes out of Ireland, but it looks like he missed a few. Lavender, a beautiful rescue corn snake, has recently slithered off to a loving new home, but her friend Apollo is still waiting for his chance to find one.
Apollo was rescued as a baby and spent 11 years as a beloved family pet, before his owners moved abroad recently. Now in the DSPCA’s care, this beautiful orange corn-snake would make a wonderful addition to a reptile-loving family.
“People are often surprised to hear we have snakes available for adoption,” says Caroline Mothersill, Small Animals and Exotics Manager at the DSPCA. “Lavender has found a wonderful home, but Apollo is still waiting, and we’ll soon have another corn snake looking for a fresh start too. These animals are captivating pets, and they deserve loving homes just like any other rescue.”

The DSPCA is urging pet owners to think about seasonal pet care precautions. Reptiles like Apollo thrive in carefully maintained enclosures where heat and humidity levels stay consistent, therefore it is important to be aware of fluctuating temperatures.
