Fifth man arrested in connection with fatal stabbing of Nigerian man

Quham Babatunde was killed in the early hours of Saturday morning, 15 February.

Gardaí have confirmed that a fifth man has been arrested in connection with the fatal assault of Quham Babatunde in Dublin over a week ago on Saturday, 15 February. 

Babatunde, a 34-year-old man originally from Nigeria, was named locally as the man killed in the fatal assault in the early hours of Saturday morning on South Anne Street and Duke Lane Upper.

Another man in his 30s was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries sustained during the incident.

The incident was believed to have occurred after a row which began in nightclub spread onto the street. 

Gardaí have made a fifth arrest in connection with the fatal assault on South Anne Street/Duke Lane Upper, Dublin 2 on the February, 15.

A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested this afternoon and is currently detained under Section 4 of Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing.
