Three men arrested in connection with Coolock anti-immigration riots last summer

Three men are due to appear in court in connection with the riots which took place in Coolock last July. 

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: "The Garda investigation into the serious public order incident which occurred on the Malahide Road, Coolock, Dublin 17, on July 15 is continuing.

"Earlier today, Monday, February 24, gardaí arrested three men in connection with this investigation.

"The men, aged in their 20s, 30s and 40s, were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Garda stations in North Dublin.

"They have all since been charged and are due to appear before Dublin District Court, Court No 4 at the Criminal Courts of Justice this afternoon, Monday February 24, at 4.30pm.

"Investigations are ongoing."

The protest at the former Crown Paints site in Coolock in July was one of the largest anti-immigration protests in the country to date. 
The site entrance was blocked for more than 100 days by protesters who set up camp with wooden huts, couches, fridges and storage areas.
