The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission yesterday, February 13, alerted the Irish public to potential issues that could arise from one of Stanley's most popular items.

Stanley 1913 are a brand of food and beverage containers known for their re-useable water bottles, which keep drinks cold for up to 11 hours, hot for seven, and can even hold ice for up to two days.

They first rose in popularity early last year, and are particularly popular among young people in Ireland.

The brand are carrying out a recall of their Trigger Action Travel Mugs. The risk presented by this product is burns.

The lid threads on the product can shrink when exposed to heat and torque, causing the lid to detach during use which could result in burns.

The model numbers are 20-02824, 20-02033, 20-02825, 20-02030.

There are approximately 228 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
