A man in his 20s has been arrested

Revenue officers seized approximately 26.42 kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €528,400 at Dublin Airport on Wednesday February 12.

The cannabis was discovered as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Lúsaí. It was found concealed in vacuum-packed packages within the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight originating from Thailand.

A man in his 20s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained at a Garda Station in Dublin under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing investigations involving organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs. If businesses, or members of the public, have any information regarding drug smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on phone number 1800 295 295.

Investigations are ongoing.
