GoFundMe set up for family of 11 who lost everything in a house fire

A GoFundMe fundraiser with a target of €10,000 has been set up for a family of 11 after their house was destroyed by a fire in Ballymun, Finglas on Saturday February 1, 2025.

GoFundMe co-organiser Sarah White issued a post on the fundraiser page saying: "Hi, we are Sarah and Tara. We are fundraising for our friend and sister, Annmarie and her family whose house went on fire yesterday morning. Thankfully everyone escaped the fire and are safe.

"However, they have lost most of their belongings; clothes, toys, personal belongings. They are now homeless and need to start from scratch. We would be very grateful for any support big or small to help them."

Approximately €6,580 has already been raised for the family since the fundraiser was set up on February 2.

Dublin Fire Brigade took to social media on Saturday evening after tackling the fire and in a post on X/Twitter, they said: "Earlier today Firefighters from Finglas were called to a house fire in Ballymun. 11 people were out on arrival of crews. 3 people were taken to hospital. Thank you to @gardainfo, @ESBNetworks and @GasNetIrl for their timely response."

The fire brigade also issued a warning: "Take the time to close all doors before bed tonight."
