Fundraising target tripled for family of Annie Heyneman as she is laid to rest

Fundraising efforts for the family of Annie Heyneman saw the target figure triple as almost a thousand people donated to help with funeral costs and any care her widower Henk may need when is discharged from hospital.

The original target figure was €20,000, however the sum raised was triple the target which saw €60,730 raised ahead of Annie's funeral which took place on Friday, January 24.

In a post on the GoFundMe which was set up by Natalie Grogan on behalf of Yvonne Heijneman, Grogan said: "Annie was a kind, caring and beautiful soul who dedicated her life to her family and community in which her passing has left a gaping hole.

"In such unprecedented circumstances I have set up this go fund me to help the family through this difficult time."
Grogan continued: "As well as helping toward funeral costs, It will also help to support Henk once he returns home with any additional care he may need.
"I know we as a community want to come together to show this wonderful family our support. To show we are behind them and grieving alongside them."
A man in his thirties has been further remanded in custody, charged with the murder of Annie Heyneman and the attempted murder of her husband Henk in Co Cavan on Saturday, January 11.
