A couple in Kerry were awoken in the early hours of Friday 24th to find that the entire upper side of their house was blown outwards during 'one of the worst storms' to hit the country.
RTE has reported that Jaro and Ingrid Fagan's home in Kerry was severely damaged by the height of the storm and that there garden is covered in concrete blocks as the wall above their bedroom collapsed due to the extreme winds.
"We are very lucky that we are alive. If it had fallen inside we would have been buried underneath. It was just the worst nightmare you can have really," Mr Fagan told RTE.
"It had happened about 3am. Just a huge bang. We thought first it was the shed that had hit the house, but the shed is still sitting here," Mr Fagan added.
Mr Fagan told RTE that it was a very frightening experience as there were no lights due to the power outages.
They, according to RTE, are one of two families who had to be evacuated from their homes in Kerry due to the storm.
