Three people have been charged over assault in Monaghan town as victim is in critical condition and being treated in Beaumont hospital

Three people appear in court charged with assault that left man critically injured

The two men and one woman, all aged in their 20s, who were arrested in relation to this investigation have since been charged.

All three are expected to appear before Cavan District Court at 10.30am this morning, Friday January 17, 2025.

The assault left a man in a critical condition in Beaumont hospital. The incident took place on Park Road, Monaghan between 10pm and 11pm on Tuesday night, January 14, 2025.

The three individuals were arrested on Wednesday January 15, 2025 and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Garda stations in the county.
