UPDATE: TFI announce further disruptions to services amid cold snap

Bus Eireann have issued service updates on early hours of Wednesday January 8 as status orange weather was declared for the country. 

Met Eireann has reported that "it will be bitterly cold with widespread frost, ice and patches of freezing fog, all of which will persist in some areas." 

Due to the 'widespread frost' Bus Eireann has had to cancel several bus services on morning of January 8, including:

In the Western/North region:

  • Routes S1 and S2 The S1 and S2 town services cancelled until further notice.
  • Route 423 07:05 Clifden to Westport - cancelled.
  • 09:10 Westport to Clifden - cancelled.
  • Route 458 05:30 Sligo to Enniskillen - cancelled.
  • Route 303 Services departing Rosmor (Georgian Village) will not be serving O'Malley Park, Carew Park, Janesboro due to dangerous road conditions. 
  • Services Ex Limerick-Nenagh will not be serving Portroe, Youghalara, Newtown due to dangerous road conditions.
  • Route 328 Services will not be serving Herbertstown and Galbally in both directions due to dangerous road conditions.

In the South region: 

  • All Cork city services are operating as planned.
  • Route 214: Currently not servicing Knockraha
  • Route 233: 233 service will not serve Killmuray.
  • 09:30 ex Baltimore to Skibbereen- CANCELLED
  • Route 239: 239 services will not serve Kilbrogan, Crossbarry, Killeady, Waterfall, Halfway or Culinanes Cross until further notice
  • Route 243: 243 services will not serve Doneraile, Kanturk or Newmarket until further notice.
  • 13:15 Cork to Rathduff will not serve Whitechurch.
  • Route 245: 07:30 ex Michelstown to Cork - CANCELLED Route 248: 248 services suspended until further notice.
  • Route 257: All 257 services are suspended until further notice.
  • Route 270: Route 270 will operate as normal from Killarney to Kenmare and return. The section of the route from Kenmare to Skibbereen is Suspended in both directions until further notice.
  • Route 272: 272 service ex Ballybunion to Tralee will no be servicing Ballybunion and Lisselton until further notice.

In the South East / Eastern region:

  • Route 109B services will not be serving Kildalkey due to adverse weather conditions until further notice
  • Route 2 09:00 Wexford to Dublin Airport - Cancelled 
  • Route 103 09:00 Ratoath to Dublin - Cancelled 
  • Route 105 07:42 Kilmoon Cross to Connoly Hospital - Cancelled 
  • Route 115 07:10 Mullingar to Maynnooth - Cancelled
  • 07:30 Mullingar to Dublin - Cancelled 
  • Route 190 05:20 Athlone to Drogheda - Cancelled 
  • Route NX 07:04 Dublin to Navan - Operating from Broadstone 
  • Route N1/N2 Operating at a reduced frequency until further notice
  • Route CW2 Operating at a reduced frequency until further notice

Transport for Ireland advises "all Bus Eireann customers when planning your journey to refer to the TFI app and the service update section on the Bus Eireann website for up to the minute information."
