The driver of a bus which was detected travelling at high speed in wet conditions has been fined.
Highlighting the incident on social media, gardai say members of the Roscommon Roads Policing Unit were on patrol near Castlerea when the encountered the vehicle.
The privately-operated bus, which can carry more than 50 passengers, was travelling at 101km/h in a 80km/h zone in what gardai say were "wet road conditions".
After it was stopped, a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice was issued to the driver and penalty points will also be applied to his licence once the fine is paid.

If payment is not forthcoming, court proceedings will be initiated.
Gardai have not disclosed the exact location of the detection or if there were any passengers on board the bus at the time of the detection.
