A man is being questioned by gardai following an early-morning incident in Sligo, which was the subject of a media blackout.
The incident, at St. Brigid's Place in the town, started sometime before 7am and gardai quickly attended the scene after the alarm was raised.
A media blackout was requested while gardai attempted to resolve the situation, which they did successfully, shortly after 8am.
No specific details as to what happened have been publicly disclosed but gardai have confirmed that a man is currently in custody.
"Arising from this incident, a man aged in his 30s, has been arrested for criminal damage offences and is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a garda station in Co. Sligo," said a spokesperson.
Gardai say no injuries have been reported at this time.
