Pedestrian tragically killed in Donegal lorry crash named

May Ciarán rest in peace

The man who tragically died in a road traffic accident in Letterkenny this Friday morning has been named locally as Ciarán McArt.

Ciarán was the loved son of Adrian and Karen McArt, brother of Ultan and Fionnuala from 2 The Glebe, Letterkenny.

Ciarán’s funeral mass will take place on Sunday, March 17, at St Eunan's Cathedral at 1:30pm, followed by burial in Conwal Cemetery. House private please to family and close friends.

Ciarán will be dearly missed by his loving mother, father, sister, brother, nephews and niece, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to the Irish Cancer society.

The incident took place on the R245 at Magheranan in Letterkenny shortly before 6am.

His body was removed to the mortuary in University Hospital Letterkenny where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The lorry driver was uninjured, gardai said.
