An emaciated dog who was found in Kilkenny recently is slowly responding to the treatment and care being given to him by kind volunteers.

Finnegan, now called Angelo, was first taken into the care of Carlow/Kilkenny Dog Shelter.

He has since been transferred to the care of LittleHill Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in County Kildare.

LittleHill released a statement saying that Angelo was brought straight to their vets in Naas where he spent the night.

"He has loads of wounds which were cleaned and dressed," they said.

"His fleas were removed, he was wormed and tested for canine parvovirus which thankfully came back negative.

"Angelo couldn’t quite understand how everyone was so nice to him. Poor fella has never encountered kindness before, until he reached the pound, where the lovely staff there looked after him very well."

If you’d like to help Angelo, you can donate straight to their vets on 045 844083 or click this link to their PayPal.
