A MAN HAS been arrested following a stop and search operation in Co Kerry that resulted in the seizure of cocaine.
Gardaí seized approximately €87,500 worth of cocaine in Listowel in Kerry on Tuesday November 21.
Members attached to the Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit and Listowel Detective Unit conducted a stop and search of a vehicle in the Gortacrissane area.
During the course of this search suspected cocaine with an estimated value of €87,500 was recovered.
A man aged in his 30s has been arrested in connection with this seizure. He is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda Station in the Kerry Division.
Investigations are ongoing, and the drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for further analysis.
