Limerick and Clare choirs unite at concert to mark International Women’s Day

Seoda Chamber Choir

SEODA Chamber Choir Limerick and The Gúnas Choir Killaloe are joining forces for a choral concert to celebrate International Women’s Day in St Mary’s Church, Kilbane, Co Clare (V94 HX75) on Thursday, March 5 at 7.30pm.

This is a free concert and there will be an opportunity for members of the audience to make a retiring donation in aid of Adapt House (Limerick) and Clare Haven Horizons (Ennis).

Refreshments will be served after the performance.

Both are award-winning, female choirs who have performed throughout Ireland and beyond and are well known for their contributions to the musical and cultural life in the Limerick and Clare areas.

Under the talented direction of Máire Keary Scanlon (Seoda) and Rhoda Clery (The Gúnas), and accompanied by Eoin Scanlon and Irina Dernova on piano, the choirs will perform many of their old favourites in the beautiful 19th century church of St Mary’s, Kilbane. There will be a guest performance by Liam Hunka (cello).

In recent times St Mary’s Church has undergone a complete refurbishment by a small group of local volunteers, with minimal funding, and a great deal of local support.

On March 5, St Mary’s church community looks forward to continuing the re-imagining of the space by extending a warm welcome to Seoda, The Gúnas and their friends and supporters.
