Her favourite places to perform are the Glen Tavern and Treaty City Brewery in the city.

“Whether it’s an original song, a complete unknown or a funky crowd pleaser, you’re the one providing the sound.

“Sometimes you might ponder what the right thing to play is, but your niche tells you everything you need to know so it’s usually best to rely on that.

“It does have an impact when the music feels appreciated by some but even if it wasn't, there’s still always a reason to persist and do it anyway.

“It no longer is a job once you’re at your happiest performing and the experience enhances each time you do it.”

Speaking about where she gets inspiration from, Ava says that ideas come from a variety of places and experiences.

“Most of my time has been sorting through different ideas and influences, as well as getting spontaneous inspirations when it comes to songwriting.

“You sometimes get next to nothing with that overwhelming block and then on other occasions, without even trying it just hits you. Then hey presto, you’ve a song that feels like a world class masterpiece. Music to your ears is very much the case in every sense.”

She says that she's so lucky to be able to pursue her music as a career and enjoys it.
