A MOTORBIKE was seized by Limerick gardai in recent days after it was established the tax had expired almost three years ago.

Members of the divisional Roads Policing Unit who were on duty in Kilmallock stopped the Yamaha bike and, using the Mobility app, they quickly learned the tax was out of date for a total of 1,029 days.

"The mobility app gives up to date information at the road side and cuts down the time delay to motorists," read a post on social media.

The owner of the bike was also issued with a fine following the detection.
