National: Gardaí renew public appeal for information on fatal road crash

Gardaí are renewing their appeal for information in relation to a fatal road traffic incident, which saw a woman in her 20's pronounced dead.

The crash occurred at Carnalogue, Co Louth, during the early hours of Monday morning, January 22. The incident happened at approximately 1.50am, when a van collided with a tree.

A passenger in the van, a woman aged in her 20's, received fatal injuries and was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

A second passenger, a man in his 20's, continues to receive treatment at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for injuries which are not life-threatening.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users who were travelling between Louth village and Channonrock, between midnight and 3am on Monday morning, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
