Cyclist hospitalised following collision on busy Limerick road

Gardai say investigations are ongoing

GARDAI say investigations are continuing after a man was hospitalised following a road collision in County Limerick earlier this week.

The incident, involving a truck and a cyclist, occurred on the N20, near Patrickswell at 3.26pm on Tuesday.

"The cyclist, a man in his 60s, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment," said a garda spokesperson.

The slip road connecting the N20 and the southbound carriageway of the M20 motorway was closed for a time following the collision to facilitate an examination of the scene.

Gardai attended the scene as did paramedics from the National Ambulance Service.

Investigations into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing and gardai say no arrests have been made to date.
