IT WASN’T a festive season to remember for Munster Rugby after losses to Leinster and Ulster but Fineen Wycherley will remember the start of 2026 for all the right reasons.
The 28-year-old towering lock got down on bended knee to propose to long term girlfriend Saoirse Ryan, who studied at University of Limerick.

The trainee solicitor shared a stunning black and white photo of the moment on her Instagram page (see above).
“Yes in every lifetime,” wrote Saoirse, accompanied by a white love heart and the date of 03/01/2026.

Congratulations have poured in for the happy couple, including from Fineen’s Munster teammate Craig Casey who said: “Unreal! Congrats guys.”
Jean Kleyn, who Fineen has packed down beside many times, expressed his congratulations as did new mum Harriet Beirne, wife of Munster captain Tadhg Beirne.

West Cork native Fineen, whose brother Josh also plays with Munster, is known as a gentle giant. He is also an ambassador with Enable Ireland.
Fineen has pulled on the red of Munster well over 100 times since making his debut in 2017. He represented Ireland at U-20 level with aplomb in the 6 Nations and World Rugby Championship and has a senior Ireland cap to his name.
