A POPULAR County Limerick take away restaurant has been gutted in a fire in the run up to Christmas.
The blaze occurred at Bank Place, Rathkeale late on Tuesday afternoon and quickly engulfed the premises. No injuries have been reported.

Five fire brigade appliances from Rathkeale and Newcastle West rushed to the scene after getting the call out at 4.27pm and extinguished it Newcastle West firefighters went directly from a fatal house fire in Mountcollins.
Firefighters remained at the scene for three hours until 7.30pm due to the ferocity of the blaze. It is not known how the fire started but foul play is not suspected.
A number of videos of the fire, which have been widely shared on social media, show flames in the premises and thick plumes of black smoke billowing into the evening sky.
A garda spokesperson said gardaí were alerted to an incident of fire that occurred at a commercial premises in Rathkeale on Tuesday, December 16 at approximately 4.30 pm.
“Fire Services extinguished the fire. Enquiries are ongoing,” said a garda spokesperson.
Over a year ago in October 2024, a fire destroyed a take away restaurant in Patrickswell.
