A powerful sense of pride and reflection filled St Ita’s Church in Ashford as the parish of Killeedy came together to honour generations of priests, nuns, and religious brothers at a special “Called to Serve” celebration.

The evening featured a moving video tribute showcasing 103 men and women who entered religious life from the parish between 1843 and the late 1960s, interwoven with stunning footage of Killeedy’s churches, grotto, and Mass Rock.

Led by local historian Jim Mulcahy, the event drew parishioners and visitors from near and far, including Bishop Brendan Leahy, and was beautifully complemented by performances from Killeedy Ceolmhthas.

The night closed with a warm gathering in The Ash, where old friends reunited to celebrate the parish’s enduring legacy of faith and service.
