Section of one of Limerick's busiest roads to close over bank holiday weekend

Diversions will be signposted and pedestrians and local access will be accommodated where possible

Road closed in Limerick over the upcoming bank holiday weekend

NOTICE has been given by Limerick City and County Council to temporarily close a section of Childer's Road (R-509) to facilitate the re-instatement of railway network.

Its junction with Hyde Road (L-10462-1) to its junction with John Carew Park Road (R-526-37) will be closed from 7pm on Friday, January 31 to 7pm on Tuesday, February 4.

Diversions will be in place via Hyde Road (L-10462) and Roxborough Road (R510) and pedestrians, bicycles and local access will be accommodated where possible.

Provision will be made for Emergency Services Only to be accommodated where possible. Local access for residential areas of Janesboro and Rathbane will also be accommodated.

Any person may lodge an objection to the proposal to close these roads by email to roads@limerick.ie or in writing to the Administration Team, Central Services, Roads, Limerick City and County Council, Dooradoyle, Limerick not later than 4pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
