Tributes paid to popular Limerick woman aged 103 following her passing

The late Bridie Breen of South Circular Road, Limerick, who was 103 years old

THE MOTHER of actor Myles Breen and playwright John Breen, Bridie Breen, has died aged 103.

Bridie Breen née Walsh of South Circular Road, Limerick passed away, peacefully, in her 104th year, in the care of the staff at Corbally House Nursing Home, last Monday.

Her son Myles announced her death and thanked all the staff at Corbally House Nursing home for their "kind loving care of her and all their residents. She will be deeply missed by all of us." He also thanked everyone for their kind messages and said they have been a "huge comfort" to the family.

Bottom Dog Theatre Company said Bridie's death was a big loss for Myles and their family and friends.

One mourner wrote on rip.ie, saying Bridie was a "great woman" with "smiling eyes" and that she was "always dressed to the nines." Another mourner commented that "while she lived a long life her passing will be a loss."

Predeceased by her loving husband Myles, brother Jack and Baby James. Deeply missed by Myles, John, Catherine, Larry, Mary, Eileen, Anne and Michael, their partners, children and grandchildren.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Wednesday, November 6 from 5pm to 6.30pm. Funeral arriving at St Joseph’s Church, O’Connell Avenue on Thursday, November 7 for Requiem Mass at 11.30am followed by burial in Mount St Lawrence Cemetery.
