€7.6 million of funding is being announced under Category 1 of the scheme
A TOTAL of €604,325 in funding has been awarded to 34 community centres in Limerick.
The funding, which is provided under the Community Centres Investment Fund 2024, has been given to centres to support upgrade and refurbishment works,
The funding is assigned under two categories. The successful projects announced this week are Category 1 applicants, and will receive capital grants of up to €25,000, out of the €7.6million total available for Category 1.
Successful Category 2 projects will be announced in the coming months. Category 2 covers larger works, with grants of up to €100,000.

Minister for Further and Higher Education Patrick O'Donovan said this announcement “will really benefit community centres across Limerick”.
“Our community centres in Limerick have always been a central point in every community for people to come together. Today’s funding is all about giving our communities a helping hand and making our towns and villages better places to live, work and raise a family,” he added.
Adare Recreation and Community Complex and Feohanagh Castlemahon Resource Centre are both receiving the full €25,000, while Castleconnell Parish Hall isn't far behind with €24,800.
