INDIE alt-rockers Left on Read return with their fifth single, Dreams, hoping to “pull on the heartstrings” of their fans, with a deep and heartfelt narrative.

The new track explores the journey  that comes with the loss of a loved one, from the initial shock and sadness to, ultimately, the perseverance and gratitude for the memories and lessons learned. With  emotional lyrics, powerful vocals and soaring guitars, Dreams is a worthy rock ballad.

“I didn’t really have any goals or expectations for this song to start out,” admits Steven Tynan, lead singer of the band.
“I sort of wrote it for myself, to help come to terms with losing my grandfather. It wasn’t until years later, when the guys heard it, that they convinced me that people needed to hear it.”

Speaking of what inspired Dreams, he said: “It literally came out of a dream I had about my grandfather after he passed. I knew it was a dream but I didn’t care, it was just nice to see him again… A little bit on the nose I guess!”
Hailing from Limerick, Left on Read began as a series of impromptu jams between friends at sessions and open mics in their city.
“It was a no-brainer to start a band with our best mates. We were just having so much fun.”

The band's love for experimentation has allowed them the opportunity to play with different styles and they already have quite the catalogue of music in their locker, ready to call on.

In 2021 the band was awarded Creative Ireland’s Made in Limerick Grant, which gave them the opportunity to head into the studio to record their debut.

In July 2022, Left on Read released their debut single Never Enough, followed by Pick Yourself Up, Duet and Most of All.
Their latest offering, Dreams, is set for release this Friday, November 17.

The song sees the band showing an emotional side, and has proven a big hit on the live circuit.

“Every time we’ve played live this summer, people have asked about this track. I guess it’s about time we give them what they’ve been asking for,” said Steven.
