Gardai launch enquiry following alleged suspicious approach close to Limerick school

GARDAI have launched an enquiry following what has been described as "an alleged suspicious approach" close to a primary school in Limerick city.

The incident which occurred Wednesday morning reportedly occurred at a public location, close to Monaleen National School. 

In a WhatsApp message circulated following the alleged incident, seen by Limerick Live, parents were urged to talk to their children to make them aware of what happened.

A concerned parent shared the message as her child was “approached by an adult man” just before Monaleen GAA club as the child was on their way to school.

Further details regarding what allegedly happened were outlined in the message which was posted in a group chat.

In response to a media enquiry, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána has confirmed that they are “making enquiries into an alleged suspicious approach” in the Monaleen area.

Gardai have not made any further statement regarding the incident.
