Pat Ryan 'Simon' at Conor McGregor's Black Forge Inn I PICTURE: Instagram
FORMER Limerick and current Doon hurler Pat Ryan 'Simon' has got many belts from corner-backs to slow down the speedy forward but this time he is wearing one.
The Black Forge Inn, owned by the 'Notorious' Conor McGregor, shared a photo of Pat with an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) belt draped over his shoulder on Instagram.
"Pleasure to have Pat Ryan from Limerick GAA #ChampChamp," read a post on the Dublin venue's Instagram page on Wednesday.
Conor McGregor, who has 46.8M followers on Instagram, then posted: "Patsy ya legend! Welcome." The original post featuring the photo of the four-time All-Ireland winning hurler has got close to 600 'likes'.
Pat, who returned the belt after the photograph was taken, will be back in the more familiar surrounds of Cappamore, instead of Crumlin, this Saturday as Doon take on Ahane in the Bon Secours County Senior Hurling Championship.
It may be nice to have the UFC belt on his shoulder but the one title Pat and all in Doon GAA circles want is a first ever senior county championship.
