IN A DISPLAY of solidarity, a community has come together to support a band that recently suffered a devastating setback.

Static Vision, while new to the scene, are making a name for themselves as the latest rock 'n' roll band to come out of Limerick.

Known for their captivating performances in The Commercial and Dolans alike, the city-based band lost all their equipment and mode of transport in a car fire last month.

Determined not to let this setback define their journey, the "grateful" band has received an outpouring of support from fans, friends, and strangers alike.

The incident occurred when the band's vehicle, laden with their cherished instruments and audio gear, was engulfed in flames at a local garage.

News of the band's misfortune spread rapidly through social media and local music circles, prompting an immediate response from a compassionate community.

Having been offered the slot at The Record Room in Limerick city on June 3, the band jumped at the chance to host their fundraiser at the venue to help recover from the unexpected setback.

With support from Limerick's own rapper Citrus Fresh and a Galwegian acoustic singer/songwriter Ryan Bradley, Static Vision aren't short of assistance with the music community showing their solidarity.

With the video for their latest single, I Got Her Number, due to be released last month, their plans to bring it out were halted by the incident.

Speaking on the fundraising so far, lead singer Cian said, "we are so close to reaching our GoFund Me goal," he began. "We can’t wait to thank everyone in person who comes to the gig and share some Limerick talent at our biggest gig yet."
