TREATY United return to action in the SSE Airtricity League First Division this Friday night with a home game against Bray Wanderers at the Markets Field, 7.45pm.
Treaty will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 2-1 defeat away to Kerry FC in their Munster derby fixture on Bank Holiday Monday in Tralee.
Ninth-placed Kerry hosted Treaty at Mounthawk Park having never beaten Tommy Barrett’s side in the league – but goals either side of half-time for the Kingdom through Kennedy Amechi as well as an own goal secured the three points for the league’s newest side.
A late Enda Curran penalty, 17 minutes from time, gave Treaty a fighting chance, but Kerry held out for their well-deserved three points.
Less than seventy two hours earlier, Mark Byrne had been the hero in Treaty United’s 1-0 win over Longford Town in the SSE Airtricity League First Division in front of an attendance of 738 at the Markets Field on Friday night, a result which ended their 14-game winless run.
Monday evening's game with Kerry FC saw Willie Armshaw make his 100th appearance for Treaty United. Mark Walsh, Scott Kirkland & Leon Kirrane come into the starting line-up for the fixture in Kerry.
