Katie Lawlee, of Treaty United, celebrates with team-mates after scoring their first goal in the 2-2 draw with Shamrock Rovers in the Women's Premier Division at Tallaght on Saturday
TREATY United continued their fine start to the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division season after securing an exciting 2-2 draw with Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The result sees Dominic Foley's side sit in a lofty fourth place in the league table following their impressive opening weekend victory at home to DLR Waves.
This was the second draw between Treaty and Rovers in the space of a week as the sides played out a 1-1 draw in their All-Island Cup group fixture at the Markets Field the previous Saturday.
Treaty got off to the worst possible start on Saturday at Tallaght when falling behind to a goal from Áine O’Gorman after just 48 seconds.
Treaty United keeper soon after Anne-Marie Ulliac produced an excellent save to prevent Stephanie Zambra from putting the home side 2-0 to the good.
However, a composed Treaty side drew level in the 20th minute when Delana Friesen set up the in-form Limerick teenager and Republic of Ireland U17 international Katie Lawlee for an equaliser.
The visitors then took the lead just before half time when substitute Hannah Saidi fired them in front.
Rovers equalised just after the hour mark through Joy Ralph to secure a share of the spoils at 2-2.
Next up for Treaty United in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division is a home game against Sligo Rovers at the Markets Field on Saturday, April 13, 5pm.
