LIMERICK senior hurling and camogie teams will play a double header of championship games this April at the TUS Gaelic Grounds after a partnership between Munster GAA and Munster Camogie was announced today, Tuesday.
The double header takes place on Sunday, April 28 with the camogie game acting as a curtain raiser to the hurling game later on that afternoon.
Limerick camogie team will play Waterford in their Munster Senior Camogie Championship Quarter-Final at 2pm before John Kiely's semior hurlers face Tipperary in a Munster Senior Hurling Championship round-robin fixture at 4pm.
The Limerick fixture is one of three double headers around the province with another taking place in Supervalu Páirc Uí Chaoimh also on April 28 where Cork host Clare at 12 noon in the Munster Senior Camogie Championship Semi-Final, before the Munster Senior Hurling Championship round robin fixture between Cork and Clare takes place at 2pm.
The final double header takes place on Sunday, May 19, where the Munster Senior Camogie Championship Final takes place at 1:45pm in FBD Semple Stadium Thurles, before Tipperary host Cork at 4pm in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship.
Speaking following confirmation of the curtain-raiser fixtures Munster Camogie Chairperson Christine Ryan said: “Munster Council Camogie are once again delighted that Munster GAA are providing us with Double headers for our Munster Senior Camogie Championship for 2024.
