LIMERICK FC defeated reigning champions St Patrick’s Athletic 1-0 this Monday night in the Premier Division of the Airtricity League,
Rory Gaffney’s tenth goal of the season secured the win in Richmond Park.
The win consolidates Limerick seventh position in the league table.
Martin Russell’s side are without a game until next Monday when Derry City come to Thomond Park for a rearranged league fixture.
The all-important goal in the win over St Pats came in the 50th minute.
Kieran Djilali raided down the left and cut inside before playing the ball across for Gaffney who struck an unstoppable shot to the bottom corner.
