‘Leaf Litter’ Exhibition of ceramic artwork

‘Leaf Litter’ is the title of a new exhibition of contemporary ceramics by Limerick-based artist Mags Dunne which runs from the 3rd May to the 26th May at the Limerick Museum, Henry Street, Limerick.
Mags graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design in 1996 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Ceramic Design. Her art work is based on the exploration and contemplation of her natural surroundings ranging from the landscape as a whole to the smaller elements and forms within.
‘Leaf Litter’ features delicate leaves in porcelain, stoneware and earthenware. A common theme in poetry and art, leaves at the end of their lives are celebrated for their colour and are also referenced for the cycle of life. Each leaf is individually cast from a real leaf collected by the artist on her walks and explorations and gathered together to produce chapters in this familiar leafy story.
