THE LIMERICK Ladies footballers are back in action this Sunday at 2pm when they travel to Laois in round five of the Lidl National League.

The Division Three fixture takes place in Heywood Community School in County Laois. It has been a mixed campaign so far for the Shannonsiders.

The Mike Quilligan and Sean Kiely-managed side suffered defeats to Down and Wexford in the opening two rounds. Deborah Murphy and Iris Kenneally were on target with 1-12 between them in the opening two fixtures.

However, Limerick got their league back on track against Offaly when they recorded their first win in Division Three. Limerick recorded an impressive 5-13 to 1-4 victory over Offaly in round three.

Rebecca Delee, Roísín Ambrose and Georgia Keane all raised green flags for the victors in that game.Limerick currently sit in sixth place on three points in the Division Three table.

After gaining promotion from Division Four last year, Limerick will be aiming to go a step closer to securing their Division Three status this weekend. Limerick's weekend opponents Laois are in third place on nine points.

The O'Moore county will be looking to boost their promotion hopes this weekend. Limerick currently have a game in hand and they will face Carlow in round four of the league on Friday March 7 at 8pm in Carlow. Then, on March 23, Limerick will be at home to Louth in round six of the competition.
