IN THE Limerick District League Premier League, Fairview Rangers impressive win over Pike Rvs last weekend has left no doubt among the chasing group that there will be no let up in the Champions efforts to retain their title.

Pike and Balla’ will continue to push the Blues all the way but cannot really afford any more slippage.

On Sunday, Balla' face Janesboro in Pease Stadium. Boro were without a win in five but recorded a superb 4-3 win over Aisling last weekend. They will not make things easy for the visitors.

Ballynanty Rvs have proven to date that are not afraid of a battle, and they will need to be in that frame of mind to take the spoils on Sunday.

Pike will be keen to get back on the pitch to try put last weekend’s game to bed.
The Hoops have accepted they are in a rebuilding phase and will need to be patient.

That said they are still competitive and won’t be far off the top of the table come season’s end.

On Sunday they visit an improving Nenagh side who are buoyed by their progress in the Munster Junior Cup.

Mungret Regional take on a Corbally Utd side in need of points if they wish to escape the drag of the relegation zone.

On Saturday, Regional Utd will be keen to keep a good run going when they host Aisling Annacotty.

In the Premier A League, leaders Kilmallock Utd are facing increasing pressure as their promotion rivals beginning to circle the wagons. On Sunday they visit Moyross Utd A with just three points separating the sides.

Both sides had wins last weekend. Kilmallock beat Summerville while Moyross accounted for Aisling B. Carew Limerick Utd are just a point behind the leaders so they can take advantage of any slip up to go top should they win at home to Prospect Priory.
Depending on results elsewhere, Star Rvs could also go top should they win at Aisling Annacotty B.

Division 1A is turning into a real battle for promotion/honours. Joint leaders Shelbourne A let a two-goal lead slip to lose 3-2 to Murroe last Sunday so must win when they visit Aisling Annacotty D on Saturday evening.

Herbertstown A are on the same points as Shels but have played two games less. On Sunday they welcome Corbally Utd B.
After their superb win over Shels on Sunday, third placed Murroe A will be determined to keep their run going when they host Pallas Utd while dark horses Granville are not out of the running but must win at Ballylanders to keep pace.

There is one outstanding MFA Shield game when Abbey Rovers host Brazuca Utd. Both sides are doing well in Division 2A and with a home tie in the last 32 versus Bandon of Cork as an incentive, we could get a thrilling cup tie.

In the Munster Youth Cup, Corbally Utd host Lough Derg while Fairview Rangers welcome a strong Pike Rovers side.
The joint leaders in Division 1B of the Limerick District League meet when Nenagh B host Ballynanty Rvs B. These sides hold a three-point gap on Pike Rvs who have a game less played so neither can afford to slip which should make it an interesting affair.

Division 2A leaders Hyde Rgs will be hoping to keep their good run going when they visit Newtown Rovers while in Division 2B top game sees challengers Mungret Regional C and Fairview Rangers B battle it out in Mungret.
