League action begins tomorrow, Tuesday, with Division 2 fixtures

Big kick off in 2025 Limerick Women’s and Schoolgirls Soccer League

THE 2025 Limerick Women’s and Schoolgirls Soccer League (LWSSL) season officially kicks off on tomorrow, Tuesday, April 15, with 12 clubs competing across two competitive divisions.

In Division 1, the team include newly promoted Bridge Celtic this season and they line up alongside 2024 Division 1 Champions Aisling Annacotty, double Cup winners Moyross United (Open Cup and Division 1 Cup) along with, Listowel Celtic, Newtown Rovers Herberstown and Mungret Regional, who impressed last season following their promotion in 2024.

The opening round of Division 1 games takes place this Thursday, April 17, with a full schedule of 6:30pm kick-off times: This week's fixtures are as follows:

Listowel Celtic vs Bridge Celtic at Pat Kennedy Park; Newtown Rovers vs Herberstown at Kennedy Park, Limerick and Mungret Regional who will take on Moyross United in an exciting Limerick derby.

Meanwhile, the action in Division 2 is set to feature five well-matched teams, promising a fiercely competitive season with each club playing three rounds of fixtures.

Ballylanders, winners of last season's Junior Cup and Division 2 Cup, have a bye in the first round of fixtures.

Murroe FC, runners-up in a thrilling 2024 Division 2 final, will look to go one better this year.

Lough Derg, Kilfrush Crusaders, and Regional United round out the division, each aiming to make their mark in what promises to be a tightly contested campaign.

The opening round of Division 2 fixtures this week take place on tomorrow, Tuesday, April 15, with 6:30pm kick-off times unless otherwise advised.

The fixtures are Lough Derg vs Murroe FC at Clarisford Park; Kilfrush Crusaders vs Regional United at Elton Sports Fields.

The Limerick Women’s and Schoolgirls Soccer League (LWSSL) would like to wish the best of luck to all clubs, players, and coaching teams as the 2025 season gets underway.
