LIMERICK senior hurlers won a fourth Co-Op Superstores Munster Hurling League when easing past Waterford by eight points in Mallow on Saturday.
The 0-23 to 0-15 victory is a timely boost for Limerick ahead of the start of their Allianz Hurling League Division 1A campaign, on Sunday, February 1 against Waterford at Azzurri Walsh Park, 2pm throw-in. “I am happy with the performance first and foremost. What we came for was to make sure we got a good performance,” John Kiely said.
“Lads worked really hard. I think we were very efficient in front of goals which was something that we have been really going after the last couple of weeks so that was great to see. We will keep working on that, we still have work to do on it. I think the impact off the bench was another factor. I think a great impact in the second half which I was delighted with. It is something we have been going after as well and will be going after during the course of the league.
“Overall, the synergy between the group on the pitch was very good. They worked hard together, they hunted together, moved the ball well when they got the chance and when Waterford had the ball they worked hard to get it back.”
