LIMERICK'S TUS Midwest begin their Fitzgibbon Cup campaign this Thursday evening, January 15 against UCD in Belfield at 7.30pm.
David Fitzgerald (Kildimo-Pallaskenry), Euan Sheridan (Murroe-Boher), Jim Beary (Na Piarsaigh) and Sean Murnane (Bruff) are all part of the Moylish-based college outfit.
Their opponents UCD suffered a 3-20 to 1-17 to University of Galway in Group C. James Conheady (Crecora-Manister) is included on the UCD Fitzgibbon Cup panel.

Meanwhile, a star studded University of Limerick side cruised to a comprehensive 6-31 to 1-9 victory over Maynooth University last Wednesday evening in Maguires Field.
Six Limerick hurling stars featured in UL’s opening-round victory, with Darragh Langan, Adam English, Aidan O’Connor, Cathal O’Neill, Sean Casey and Fintan Fitzgerald all lining out for Brian Ryan’s side.
Aidan O'Connor scored 1-1, while Adam English chipped in with 0-1 and Cathal O'Neill was on target with 0-2. Limerick hurler Colin Coughlan missed out through injury.
All-Ireland winning Tipperary hurlers Darragh McCarthy and Oisin O'Donoghue hit 4-9 between them.
Mary Immaculate College had too much for SETU Waterford winning out 4-22 to 2-16 on last Wednesday afternoon in MICL grounds.
Shane O'Brien and Oisin O'Farrell formed an impressive two man full forward line scoring 4-10 between them.
Sean Whelan, Jimmy Quilty and Vince Harrington and William Dore were also part of the Mary I side. 2024 young hurler of the year Adam Hogan made an appearance off the bench for the south circular road based college.
Both the Univeristy of Limerick and Mary Immaculate have byes this week in the Fitzgibbon Cup.
The Castletroy side return to action against DCU on January 21, while Jamie Wall's side face ATU Galway on the same evening.
Fionn O'Brien (Bruree) and Dara Ferland (Monaleen) didn't feature in UCC's defeatt to MTU Cork last week. Ruairi O'Connor of Feenagh-Kilmeedy lined out at wing forward for MTU Cork in their victory over UCC.
