LIMERICK'S senior hurling stars were among the biggest GAA names to attend the gala PwC GAA/GPA All-Star Awards ceremony which took place at the RDS in Dublin on Friday night.
Seven Limerick hurlers had been among the 45 nominated for the 2025 PwC GAA/GPA Hurling All-Stars. The seven Shannonsiders short-listed were goalkeeper Nickie Quaid, defenders Mike Casey, Kyle Hayes and Tom Morrissey as well as midfielder Adam English and forwards Aaron Gillane and Cian Lynch.

However, none of the seven gained inclusion in the All-Star side when it was revealed on Thursday morning.
John Kiely's Limerick side reached the 2025 Munster final before losing out to Cork in a dramatic penalty shoot-out after the sides were deadlocked at the end of extra-time at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
The Shannonsiders then suffered a surprise defeat to Dublin in the All-Ireland quarter-finals at Croke Park.
Doon clubman Adam English was also short-listed for the Young Hurler of the Year accolade along with the Tipperary duo Darragh McCarthy and Robert Doyle.
Limerick star English was out of luck in the PwC GAA-GPA Young Hurler of the Year award which was won by Tipperary's UL student McCarthy.
Tipperary's John McGrath was announced as PwC GAA-GPA Hurler of the Year in recognition of his impressive contribition in Tipp's All-Ireland final success.
Meanwhile, Kerry's talisman David Clifford captured a third PwC GAA-GPA Footballer of the Year Award in his stellar career as the Kingdom regained the Sam Maguire.
Donegal’s teenage star Finnbarr Roarty was voted PwC GAA-GPA Young Footballer of the Year.
Kerry picked up eight All-Stars on the on the PwC Football All-Stars 2025 team which was announced on Friday night. The players honoured included the Kingdom's Shane Ryan, Jason Foley, Brian Ó Beaglaoich, Gavin White, Joe O’Connor, Paudie and David Clifford as well as Sean O'Shead, with beaten finalists Donegal scooped four All-Stars courtesy of Brendan McCole, Finnbarr Roarty, Michael Langan and Michael Murphy.
The other three spots are filled by Armagh's Oísin Conaty, Louth's Sam Mulroy and Meath defender Séan Rafferty.
