Limerick Junior Hurling Championship titles up for grabs this weekend

THERE are a number of finals down for decision this weekend in the Limerick club hurling championships.Knockaderry and Doon meet in this weekend’s Woodlands Premier Junior Hurling Championship decider in Kilmallock on Saturday afternoon.

Doon and Knockaderry will be battling it out for a place in the Intermediate Hurling Championship for the 2026 season.
Doon’s Sean McDonell, Eamonn Richardson, Michael Ryan, and Darragh Coughlan all featured for Scoil Na Trionóide Naofa in last season’s Dr Harty Cup.

Sean Moloney captains the team at centre half-back, while former Limerick hurler Richie English is part of the Doon backroom team.

Jack Molloy has featured at wing-back for Knockaderry, he was previously part of the Limerick U20 hurling panel in 2022 and 2023. Tom Condon, a 2018 and 2020 All-Ireland winning hurler with Limerick remains a vital member of Brendan Hayes’ panel.

Castletown-Ballyagran and Templeglantine will compete for the Woodlands Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship honours this Saturday at 6pm in Mick Neville Park.

Both clubs will view the Junior A Hurling Championship as a stepping stone to move up the ranks. and into the fourth tier of the Limerick club hurling championship.

Limerick footballer Mark McCarthy captains Templeglantine, Meanwhile Mark Riordan and Ben Herlihy are joint captains of the South Limerick side. Cork native William Biggane is the manager of Castletown-Ballyagran.  Biggane will take up a role with the Cork senior hurlers under new manager Ben O’Connor ahead of the 2026 season.
