THERE were a number of standout performances in round four of the Whitebox Limerick senior hurling championship. Leader Sport picks their team of the week from the six games that took place senior hurling championship last weekend.
Na Piarsaigh booked their place in the Limerick SHC semi-finals and Doon have also secured their place into the knockout stages of the SHC. Monaleen have also been promoted into group one for the 2026 season and the Castletroy side have also advanced into the quarter-finals.
Patrickswell have been relegated into group two. Kilmallock, Ahane and Ballybrown are all battling it out for a place in the quarter-finals. Adare, Mungret St Paul's and Newcastle West all remain in contention to reach the last six.

Newcastle West are on three points with a scoring difference -2, while Kildimo-Pallaskenry are on three points with a scoring difference -6. Dromin-Athlacca look like favourites to make the drop to the premier intermediate grade sitting on one point after four games.The final round of group games take place on the week of September 11.
1. Mike Quilligan (Newcastle West)
Newcastle West goalkeeper Mike Quilligan scored 0-4 in the Magpies narrow defeat to Monaleen in round four of the Limerick SHC in Rathkeale last Thursday.
2. Keith Punch (Ballybrown) 3. Mike Casey 4. Bryan Canny (Monaleen)
Ballybrown defender Keith Punch did terrific man marking job on Adam English holding him scoreless from play. Na Piarsaigh full back Mike Casey look rock solid at the back in his first start for the Caherdavin side this year. Bryan Canny produced a solid performance in the Monaleen full back line and the Castletroy sealed promotion to group one for the 2026 season.
5. Ronan Connolly (Adare) 6. Dan Morrissey (Ahane) 7. Fintan Fitzgerald (Mungret St Paul's)
Former Limerick hurler Ronan Connolly chipped in with a point in Adare's victory over Dromin Athlacca which now sees Mark Foley's side sit second place in group two. Dan Morrissey made the switch out to the half back line for Ahane and Morrissey delivered an inspirational performance against Patrickswell. Brian Begley has made the decision to deploy Fintan Fitzgerald in the Mungret St Paul's half back line and the Limerick U20 hurler finished up with 0-2.
8. Darragh O'Donovan (Doon) 9. William O'Donoghue (Na Piarsaigh)
Doon senior hurling captain Darragh O'Donovan scored the match winning point in Doon's one point victory over Ballybrown. Na Piarsaigh William O'Donoghue dominated the physical stakes in the middle third against Kilmallock.
10. Declan Hannon (Adare) 11.Tom Morrissey (Ahane) 12. Niall Mulcahy (Mungret St Paul's)
Former Limerick hurling captain Declan Hannon was in impressive form at the weekend scoring 2-2 for Adare. Tom Morrissey continued his impressive form for Ahane in this year's SHC and Morrissey was on target with 0-10 against Patrickswell. Mungret St Paul's attacker Niall Mulcahy was a livewire in attack and Mulcahy hit 0-5 which saw Mungret St Paul's get their first victory in the SHC.
13. Dylan Lynch (Na Piarsaigh) 14. Donnacha Ó Dálaigh (Monaleen) 15. Aidan O'Connor (Ballybrown)
Dylan Lynch who was part of the Limerick senior hurling panel this year was off the mark with 1-2 in Na Piarsaigh's statement win over Kilmallock. Monaleen forward Donnacha Ó Dálaigh grabbed 0-4 in their victory over Newcastle West and Aidan O'Connor continued his conistent levels of performances in the SHC hitting 0-13.
