Dublin got off to a near perfect start leading 1-3 to 0-1 after ten minutes but a superb individual display by Gavin O'Mahony helped Limerick to a four-point victory, Justin McCarthy's side winning on a scoreline of 2-18 to 1-17

The Kilmallock native scored eight points to help guide the Shannonsiders into the final four of the 2009 championship where they where ultimately beaten by Tipperary.
