TG4’s Scéalta na gCorn explores Limerick in third Series

Grainne McElwain headed to Limerick to hear the story of Irish patriot John Daly, namesake of the Limerick Senior Hurling Cup. McElwain explored Limerick as part of the TG4’s Scéalta na gCorn series. The series is a heartwarming and inspiring celebration of local heroes, community spirit, and the legacy carried by GAA silverware across Ireland.

The Scéalta na gCorn series 3 episode featuring Limerick will air on Thursday, April 17th, 2025, at 8PM on TG4.

At Mary Immaculate College, she meets those who remember Noreen Lynch, a much-loved lecturer and the inspiration for a ladies’ football trophy.

Then she stopped at Mick Mackey’s homeplace, celebrating the legendary hurler whose name graces the Munster Senior Hurling Cup. The Limerick senior hurlers will aim to create history by lifting the Mick Mackey cup for the seventh year in-a-row this year.
