All you need to know ahead of Limerick's Allianz Hurling League clash with Wexford

LIMERICK finish their Allianz Hurling League campaign this Saturday night against Wexford in the TUS Gaelic Grounds at 7:30pm. 

After last week's defeat to Kilkenny, Limerick can no longer reach the Division 1A league final. John Kiely's side have recorded victories over Tipperary and Galway and suffered defeats to Clare and Kilkenny. In round two, the Shannonsiders played out a draw with Cork. 

Limerick's clash against Wexford will be their last competitive outing until their Munster championship opener against Tipperary on April 20. 

On Sunday evening, supporters can view the highlights from the action in the TUS Gaelic Grounds on League Sunday on RTE2 at 10:20pm. 

The Limerick Leader Sports department will be bringing viewers all the action, insight, and analysis from the Ennis road venue on Saturday evening.

Limerick's starting line-up to face Wexford on Saturday sees the inclusion of Declan Hannon and Darragh O'Donovan, both of whom are making their first starts of the season.

Goalkeeper Shane Dowling will make his fourth start of the Allianz Hurling League. Meanwhile, Vince Harrington, Cian Scully an Micheal Houlihan make their first starts of the league. 

Barry Murphy, Kyle Hayes, Cathal O'Neill, William O'Donoghue, Peter Casey and Dan Morrissey haven't been included the 26 man panel. 

Wexford have already suffered relegation to Division 1B for the 2026 season. The Slaneysiders defeated Clare in the Allianz Hurling League and have been beaten by Cork, Galway, Tipperary and Kilkenny.

Keith Rossiter's charges have been boosted by the return of Lee Chin in recent weeks. Wexford sharpshooter Conor McDonald has been sidelined through injury.
