LIMERICK will look to boost their hopes of reaching the Allianz Hurling League final this Saturday. The Munster champions sit in fourth place on five points in Division 1A.
Limerick will remain in contention to reach the 1A decider if they defeat Kilkenny this Saturday at 3:30pm in UPMC Nowlan Park. The round four Allianz Hurling League clash was previously called off on February 23 due to an to an unplayable pitch in UPMC Nowlan Park.
The Shannonsiders know that two wins in their final two games against Kilkenny and Wexford will put them onto nine points. Cork meet Galway in their final game of the Allianz Hurling League and a win would move the Rebels on to nine points.
Scoring difference could then decide whether Cork or Limerick advance to the league final as the sides drew in round two of the league. After Cork's big victory over Clare last Sunday, Pat Ryan's side have a scoring difference of +29 with Limerick on +13.
Table toppers Tipperary are the only team that know a win will guarantee their place into the league decider. Meanwhile, Galway need to beat Cork and the Tribesmen need to hope that Limerick only take a maximum of two points against Kilkenny or Wexford.
TG4 will be broadcasting this Saturday's clash between Limerick and Kilkenny. The coverage gets underway at 3:15pm on TG4.
On Sunday evening, supporters can view highlights from the action in the TUS Gaelic Grounds on League Sunday on RTE2 at 9:30pm.
The Limerick Leader Sports department will be bringing viewers all the action, insight, and analysis from Kilkenny on Saturday afternoon.
