FORMER Galway senior hurling selector Kevin Lally has been appointed as the new Ballybrown senior hurling manager ahead of the 2025 season.
Lally worked as a selector under Henry Shefflin with the Galway senior hurling team from 2022 until 2024. The Galway native replaces Christy Keyes as manager of the city based club.
Ballybrown gained promotion from group two of the senior hurling championship last year. Kilmallock narrowly defeated Ballybrown in the Limerick SHC quarter-final in 2024.
Lally led St Thomas' to three Galway senior hurling championships between 2018 and 2020. The Padraig Pearses clubman was also coach of the Galway minor hurling team that won an All-Ireland title in 2021.
Adare, Kildimo-Pallaskenry and Mungret St Paul's have all been relegated to group two of the SHC in the past three seasons. The Clarina based club will be hoping to survive in group one of the SHC this year.
County players Colin Coughlan and Aidan O'Connor are some of the key players within the Ballybrown ranks.
