GAA president Jarlath Burns will be the guest of honour when Doon celebrate their historic first Limerick Senior Club Hurling Championship title success.

On Sunday, February 2 players, officials, family and friends from the east Limerick GAA club will make their way into the city to toast their heroes at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ennis Road.

Last October the men in red and white defeated Na Piarsaigh, just a short distance from the Radisson Blu Hotel, in the TUS Gaelic Grounds to win their maiden Limerick SHC title.

Managed by former Waterford supremo Derek McGrath, Doon were captained to the Daly Cup success by inter-county star Darragh O'Donovan.

Now they have managed to entice none other than GAA president Jarlath Burns to be their guest of honour as they mark their achievement with a Victory Dinner Dance.

Doon GAA club social media accounts promise: "This is more than just a celebration; it’s a chance to come together as a community and honour the players, supporters, and everyone who made this incredible achievement possible."

Storm Éowyn has forced a change to their club's sale of tickets for the Victory Dinner Dance - the new times in the local Pastoral Centre this Saturday from 6pm to 7:15pm and on Sunday morning from 10:30am to 12 noon.

Tickets can also be purchased online

Tickets are €100 and music will be by Traffic, followed by a DJ. The celebration starts with a Prosecco reception from 6pm on Sunday, February 2.
